Kaabers Antikvariat

July 28, 2008

This antique book store in the center of Copenhagen was opened a long time ago by a distant reletive of mine from Iceland.  I don’t know any of the clerks and I don’t even know who runs it.  But I like to tell the story when ever I get the chance, it makes me kind of proud.

Picnic

July 27, 2008

Yesterday ended up being one of those fantastic summer nights that I’m always dreaming of when the weather get’s dark, cold and grey in Denmark.

I would have postet a picture of how the muffin looked before we ate I’t,  but it didn’t turn out very well.  Check out  Lea’s blog for more details!

Hot

July 26, 2008

This is me today.

The weather is to hot for me. I can’t get anything done and I’m getting anoyed about it. (It dosen’t help)…

We (Anders and I) are going on a picnic with some of my favorite people later.

Thursday night

July 25, 2008

Thursday night was really good too.  Anders and I had sushi and I got to play with my toys.

This is suppose to be our dining room lamp.  I made it from a plastic glass.

Thursday at Bryggen

Today is a good day…

Bracelets

July 24, 2008

In the latest issue of the danish magazine “Bazar” I spotted some “Brinja” bracelets. What a great surprise!

Sleeping beauty

July 23, 2008

I have always been crazy about fairy tales.

Tomato update

July 22, 2008

After having started this blog I have been inspired to improve my english.  So (only because of the the title and layout, actually) I decided to read the book by Janathan Safran Foer called “Extremely loud and incredibly close” Turnes out to be a fantastic choice of book so far (only thirty pages… But still!) I like the characters and that it seems to be filled with very intellegent imagination in the head af a nine year old boy.

Bag

July 21, 2008

I was always told that you can’t buy happiness. But I bought this fabulous bag on sale today and I am thrilled!

Chairs

July 19, 2008

The shop where I buy my miniature stuff feels like a parallel universe.

It is a tiny very old fashioned and always crowded place, which you barely notice from the outside. It is always the same two people standing behind the counter and after having been there quite a lot recently I’ve notisted that most of the customers are the same. Everybody knows the staff, or is it the other way around?

I am by far the youngest person there.

I love the serious but silly conversations among the costumers and clerks. It always makes me smile.

Today I bought four small chairs. I’m gonna paint them black.

I like my neighbourhood… Lots of pretty old signs.

Merry Cherry Day

July 17, 2008

We are having a cherry celebration.

The launch of the cherry season is taking place right outside my shop. The cherry farmers asked me to make a cherry theme and so i did.

Anders and I are handing out the most delicious riped cherries to our costumers.

Beside eating a lot of cherries we have enjoyed a caramel-birthday cake and coffee. What a diet.

Flowers and birthdays

July 16, 2008

I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole wide world!

Last year we celebrated Anders birthday in Nashville Tennessee eating crabs from “Joe’s crab shack”.

Tomorrow is Anders birthday once again and we are gonna have dinner at a resturant/boat called Viva.

Dinner on a Tuesday

July 16, 2008

With friends…

We cooked (mostly meat), had dinner, sang, played guitar, blew bubbles, wore funny hats, smoked a hookah and had a bonfire.

Perfect Tuesday.

Three is a magic number

July 15, 2008

Miniature

July 13, 2008

The first pic is the dollhouse version!

The table is made out of wood and covered with a sticker sheet that looks like wood.  The magazines are cut outs from, yes, magazines.  The candels are the only thing that i did not do myself.

Egg head

July 13, 2008

Uh, I forgot to say that I have bougt myself a fancy new helmet for my daily bike rides through the city. My dad is going to be so pleased to read this. Maybe i’ll post a picture, I’m not sure…

Stress and vegetables

July 13, 2008

I recently read that watching plants grow helps you relax from daily stress and pressure. My hope is that when I eat this homegrown tomato I will be completly in contact with all my inner chakra’s.

I’m watching sunflowers, peas, chilies and tomatoes grow in my kitchen window.

(Also, i´m not sure who is responsable, but a hemp shoot is suddently growing up in one of my living room plants, my husband watches that grow!)

Inspired by Mortens comment about breakfast. I made a smoothie this morning.

A banana, a peach, some frosen raspberry and fresh orange juice.

It turned out very good. But I was hungry. So I had a cup of coffee and some bread as well.

Tomorrow I am gonna have oatmeal.

Happy vacation time

July 11, 2008

The wonderfull thing about summer time is that Anders and I can eat breakfast together every day. And the shop doesn’t feel like a real job when we are both there. Tomorrow I am gonna clean up the kitchen/stockroom and then do some hairbands. A few weeks ago I got so stressed out about the “hairband factory situation” that I made an agreement with myself, that I shall “only” make ten pieces a day. After finishing my daily quote I will finally be able to work on something else with a clean concience. So far it is working out pretty well.

Miniature

July 11, 2008

Today I spend most of my time playing with my dollhouse.  I made the winerack from cardboard and painted small plastic bottles the right color. The labels are cut outs from fashion magazines.

The first picture is the dollhouse version!

Scaling

July 11, 2008

So I have had a lot of difficulties starting up this blog thing.  I´m not that familiar with computers yet but i´am trying to learn and with alot of help I am taking it one step at a time.  The other day I accidentally ereased all the pictures on the blog and felt kind of stupid. Maybe it was okay though because in the meantime I’ve learned how to scale them into a more fitting size. So I ended up using most of my work day scaling pictures and posting them again.  Now I surely know how to do that!
