Wedding
August 30, 2008
My sister got married on a beautiful day in may. This picture is taken outside Trinitatis church, the same church where me, my sister and brother got baptized and confirmed.
Sigga asked me to do her wedding dress and so I did. Even though I never take orders on sewing.
In the shop I only sell the clothes that is there, and only as it is. I am not one of those designers who shortens dresses and fixes zippers. I guess I’m not really that service minded or patient, not when it comes to custumors care anyway. I get irritable if I can’t choose for myself what I want to sew and how I want it to end up. Besides I can’t think of anything more annoying than being told what to do.
Well, about the dress: It didn’t take me long to get the dress the way she wanted it, but it took a month or so, to sew in tiny golden beads all over the fabric.
She was very happy and so so beautiful on her wedding day that it made all the late nights of hand sewing beads, watching movies and thinking of her wedding worth while.
I’ve never sewn a wedding dress before (not that I know of anyway) and I dont think I will ever do it again.
But for this once, it was all worth it!
I forgot about the hat, I made the hat too.

Erwhon
August 28, 2008
Erewhon is a novel by Samuel Butler, published anonymously in 1872. The title is also the name of a country, supposedly discovered by the protagonist. In the novel, it is not revealed in which part of the world Erewhon is, but it is clear that it is a fictional country. Butler meant the title to be read as the word Nowhere backwards, even though the letters “h” and “w” are transposed. It is likely that he did this to protect himself from accusations of being unpatriotic, although Erewhon is obviously a satire of victorian society.
I haven’t read the novel, but the blog is by an author that I know really well.

I passed a shop on Gl. kongevej today who had a copy of my hairband in the window, it was made out of a diffrent material but i couldn’t stop feeling like someone stole something of mine. I knew that it wouldt happen eventually but I it still makes me a bit sad.
This is how you see me
August 26, 2008
When I look at myself in the mirror I view my face straight on and my body a little from above. My brother as on the picture sees me from above, whereas my younger sister see me from a lower angle. This is how it is of course, but it troubles me as I see it troubles the beautiful girl at pickedpics.
Now, this is how my brother sees me (at least when it’s through a camera-lense and mirror):

Someone once told me that pictures should be taken from above, I’m not sure any longer.

Friday was such a beautiful evening and my dad-in-law took me sailing, I love to sail. They (Anders parents) have a cute little boat called “Bassi”.

Saturday was a rainy day and all of the Island talked a whole lot about it. Anders and I went for a walk, with big boots and umbrellas.

The great thing about being in the country is that you get to take naps.
Here are Anders napping in the “Bænkebidderen” guesthouse.

Weekend
August 22, 2008
Speeking of interior and design, I found some pretty cool pictures on this site, Thelselby.
I’m going to spend the next couple of days far away from computers and internet access. What a handicap! Well, still got the camera.
Here is a picture of a green “Brinja” Hairband posing in the latest issue of the danish magazine Bazar.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A friend of mine knitted me the scarf, I got it yesterday. It is amazingly soft and im in love with the colour.
Thank you so much Amalia.
Today is one of those dayes where customers askes for a hairband in the only colour that is not available, throw clothes on the floor after trying it on and comment a bit to loud on how the clothes is only for young people or, “funny, but to wierd to actually wear”.
Of course I’ve had good customers too, sometimes I just seem to notice the not so good ones more.
I guess this is just one of those days…

Fashion diary dilemma
August 12, 2008
As you may know I’m the lucky owner of my own store so I want to post pictures of some of my clothing on the only model the store can affort, Me. The problem is that I find it ekstreamly difficult to photograph myself, especially in a Keep-a-focus-on-the-clothes kind of way. I can’t just cut of my head because most of the time I’m wearing a hat or some kind of hair accesorie witch of course is importent to get in the photo.
What a dilemma…

My book is running out of pages that I haven’t already read. It’s a weird thing that whenever I am about to finish a book I don’t really want it to end, cause then what? At the same time I can’t read the last pages fast enough, and then get on with something else… confusing.
When I’m not reading I am working on my “Gimp-skills” by watching episodes from “Meet the gimp”, recommended by Morten. unfortunately it’s not working out very well, yet!.
And I’m eating fresh fruit from the garden all day, Uhm…
