Fishes and polaroids
January 31, 2009

I had to try out the “fake polaroid picture magic” that I’ve heart people talk about lately. Here are the result.
The two fishes are new members of our little family, just got them last week. We couldn’t decide what to name them -so now we call them “Fish”. I have already spend hours starring at them – fascinating little creatures.
If you wanna try and make your own fake-polaroids you can get the software here: www.poladroid.net. Or you can make them in a “gimp” version.
Free as a bird
January 30, 2009
This Friday I am free as a bird. I have a helper to take care of the shop and the whole day to spend doing exactly what I feel like. – So, when I woke up I decided to make the very best of it!
I started of with a smoothie and porridge on a local place called “Granola“… -No actually I started of by staying in bed and read magazines until 12.am -Then I went to “Granola”.

Afterwords Anders and I went shopping for new glasses (For him). Unfortunally no pictures there, but we did find some really cool ones -and I’ll keep you posted on that!
To celebrate the good choice of glasses, we went to a book café for a cup of coffeé and some quiet time.

Then some grossery shopping -and because we had already spend way to much money on one day, I decidet to buy my self flowers.

Now movies and homemade burgers.
Have a great weekend everyone.
What I wore today -Thursday!

Vesterbro, Copenhagen
January 28, 2009

As I walked to work this morning I took a whole bunch of photos and thought about how much I like living in Copenhagen. I lost track of time and was thirty minutes late. Not good! I’m almost never late and when I am -I always get caught.
Two people was waiting outside the shop when I arrived and someone called me later on and asked if I was even open today because she had been there at 11.15 and the shop was closed… Ups.
Typical, when under normal surcomstances no one would ever notice.
Well, here are some of the photos I took. Most of them are from the area “Vesterbro” in Copenhagen.
Does this happen to you too?
January 27, 2009

I really don’t get it! Out of these many keys I know where two or three of them belong. The rest must be the most odd collection I have.
About my husband
January 26, 2009

Phew I had a hard time getting out of bed this Monday morning, really felt like staying in all day.
I’m not sure if I’ve already told you this but Anders (my husband) is a teacher. He works in a public school in Valby, Copenhagen and gets up earlier than me every morning (Even though I always try to get up early and eat breakfast with him, which never actually happens) When he’s is done at school in the afternoon he often bikes to the shop and helps me out.
In there he takes care of lots of things like book keeping, paying bills, finding new music to play, help out customers and build what ever DIY project we have got going.
He does all of this so that I can concentrate on creating stuff. Isn’t that pretty AMAZING?
I feel like we are the best team ever!
A walk in the forrest
January 25, 2009

After WAY to many of Anders’s cakes and lots of hours on the couch this Weekend, we decided to go for a long walk in a forrest near Copenhagen called “Kongelunden”.
It was cold, grey, wet and absolutely wonderful. Just what I needed… So much beauty.

Sofa time
January 23, 2009
I’m planning to spend as much time as possible curled up on my couch this weekend.

Show me your desk
January 22, 2009
Morten from “Rudiment” came up with this great ideá in my previous post. He suggested to do a “Show me your desk” tag. And you know what, I think I will. I would love to see your desks!
I’m gonna tag five people and hope you’ll pass it on the same way, could be fun!
Alice, Brita, Lea, Mette and Katrine.
I’m looking forward.
These pictures are from yesterday in the shop. It was crazy cold and I wore the biggest of all my hats (only outside, even though I felt like keeping it on all day).
The Woody Allen glasses have no vision correction -they are just for the fun of it.
I have made key chains since 2003 and I still do, new designs every time so they never look the same.

notice-board sneak peak
January 21, 2009
This is my home-work-shop and my notice-board that keeps track of random mess.
I have always found notice-boards very interesting when visitng other peoples home, here you have a sneak peak at mine. Whats on it is not very thought through, just what I had lying around.
I’m getting into a real good habit of sitting at my desk, writing, drawing, blogging and stuff like that – in the morning before work. The only sad thing about it is that I never feel like I have enough time, I would love to sit there all day long. Now – sadley, I have to go out in the cold and go open the shop.
See you’ar

Morning meeting
January 20, 2009
I have so much trouble getting out of bed in the morning. It’s making me crazy.
Today I succeeded. I was up at 8.00 a.m. yay!
Now I’m planning my day and my week, eating almonds, drinking coffee, juice and water.
Have a nice day everyone.

My favorite Winter accessorize
January 19, 2009
The mittens that Anders gave me in the Fall has defenently become my favorite accessorize. We haven’t had much snow yet but I’m still hoping.
It’s not easy to look feminin when it is cold and grey in Denmark like it is most days this time a year. Even though I’m wearing big clumsy jackets, boots and lots of layers, these mittens semes to do the trick for me . They make all my outfits look more feminin after all.
Pictures are me on my way to the party in Tivoli Friday night.

Friday night dinner
January 18, 2009
Seewead sesami salad, grilled pollock, a mix of three sorts of tomatos, jerusalem artischoke crips, romaine lettuce and parmesan.
Oh almost forgot the mashed potatoes with chillies.
5 things I love everyday
January 17, 2009
A few days ago Katrine tagged me for 5 things I love everyday.
At first I thought; Hey thats easy! then I found out how many things I love every day and five is so few… How to choose, thats not as easy.
Well, concidering how many times I’ve seen someone else do this post previously I guess there is a chance It’ll come back around, then I can do five more.
Here are five for now:
1.This first one is obvious but importet! I love to eat, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snakcs, sweets… Love it, love it, love it.

2. I love that nearly every day I’m sorroundet by my favorite people in the world. My husband, my brother, sisters, family and friends.
This picture is taken on my sisters wedding day. My brother Niller, my two sisters Sigga and Hildur and me. The black and white theme is an inspiration from Lea’s very pretty zoo photos.

3. Even though I complain a bit sometimes, I love my work. I love gettng inspired and creating things. And I love that I get to develop my skills every day through my work.

4. I love colors, lots and lots of colors.

5. I love to sleep and I love my bed. I always miss my bed alot when I’m traveling.

I’m guessing alot of you bloggers already did this post so I’m not gonna tag anyone. But if you haven’t been tagget yet then go for it, do a “5 things I love everyday” and let me know!
Have a great Saturday everyone.
Happy Friday
January 16, 2009
Thanks for all the great comments lately. I dont have enough time to reply just yet, but eventually I will.
Today has been fabulous so far. A long walk with my sister, a big greasy burger for lunch and now a warm bath.
I’m attending a party in tivoli tonight and I have to go dress up now.
Ohh, what to wear…?

How it all began
January 15, 2009
I was about to go to bed early when I coincidental found these old photos from when Anders and I just took over the shop in Spring 2005. Feels like loooong ago, we look so young. I’m not sure if I’m the only one who finds this really funny but here it comes anyway.
Looking back I’m very proud of all the work we did. We practically did everything our selves, we tore down walls, made old wooden floors look like new, put up wallpaper, painted, hung op lamps, spots and rags and so on… Alot more work than we had ever imagined. But a whole lot of fun too and we had some very loyal helpers, you can se some of them on the last picture.
Now it has become so late that it’s not even today anymore…

Come join my group
January 13, 2009

weekend activity
January 12, 2009

I created these brooches during the weekend and brought them with me to the shop this morning. I sold two of them during the day. Gonna make more soon.
By the way Anders started his “dinner week” today with a potato and leak soup!
And the winner is…
January 11, 2009

I hereby announce Lea Bolvig to be the winner of the big “What to call my new pc” competition. She came up with the name “Lille My” and I think it’s fantastic. Thank you Lea, you have a pipe of liquorice comming your way!. “Lille My” is an angry but very cool little girl from the stories about the moomins. I think she is called “Mymble” in English.
Thank you all for all the great suggestions!
Have a happy Sunday.
Dinner and lunch
January 10, 2009

My sister and her husband takes turns in making each other dinner, one week Sigga (my sister) makes all the evening meals and the next one her husband is in charge. It seems to work out very well. Here are some of the great benefits of the agreement:
1. When it’s not your week you can relax and be at no help with a clean concience.
2. When it is your week you can make whatever food you want.
3. You are sure to get something to eat every day :)
4. It’s easier to plan your meals ahead.
Anders and I have decided to give it a try. I´ll let you know how it goes.
1st picture: Lunch at home. 2nd picture: Lunch at a café. 3rd pictuture: Dinner at a hotel in Stockholm. 4th picture: Dinner at my parents.

January 8, 2009
I have decided to wait a few days until I reveal the winner of the “What to call my new pc competition”. Not that I don’t like the suggestions so far. Just want to give all of you a last chance to participate or maybe come up with more?
I’m having a sale in the shop these days. Come visit if you live near by!

Any suggestions?
January 7, 2009
If you have any suggestions on what this pretty little thing should be called, now is the time!

Six easy steps!
January 6, 2009
I always get flat tires after newyears there is so much broken glass on the streets.
When Anders and I lived in Valby we used to get our bikes fixed at a local place ovned by a very nice man who I really liked. Unfortunately I haven’t found anyone as good, cheep and nice in my new neighbourhood.
Now I have to do it my self!

Does your computer have a name?
January 5, 2009
When a new member of the family arrives it is important to find it a name!
My sister has a computer named “Obama” (He arrived the same day Obama was elected) , My friend Lea has a mac called Mc. Allan (something about a guy selling sausages in Jutland and got sued by MacDonalds), our old computer is called “Zuma” (he was once very quick, and so was a football player with the same name), my brother Niller has one called “Lille zuma” Lille=Tiny (because he’s tiny and quick like “Zuma”), Anders’s is called “Klods Hans” Klods=clumsy (he is alot clumsier than “Zuma”)
Obviously I can’t name my new one before she arrives.
Does your computer have a name?

Something exciting is about to happen…
January 4, 2009
I think I’ve told you before but I am (still) pretty new at all this computer stuff and the thing is that I have actually never owned my very own computer. Growing up I have always been surrounded by them. Most of my family are very very computer-skilled. I even remember being the only one in my class to be online at home. And I remember how my dad and my brother told me enthusiastic about all the great opportunities in the amazing world of computers and internet! I’t did not catch my interest though and living at home with my parents I never spend any time by the computers.
Anders and I have had a computer in our home since we met (2002) and one in the shop since the beginning (2005) this was Anders idea and when he at the same time insisted to get internet in there, aswell as at home, I thought it was a bit crazy -Can you belive it? I have certainly chanced my mind since then.
Anyway, back to the exciting thing that’s about to happen. I am now soon to be the lucky owner of my very own computer. Yay, cant wait!
I’ll tell you more as soon as I can. Stay tuned!

Old fashioned letter/Old fashioned wallpaper
January 3, 2009
A mail can be good but an old fashioned letter is so much better. I got a great one the other day from my grandma. She send me this really cool picture from 1954. In the picture my mum is three and my Uncle is five years old celebrating a birthday. The reason why she send me this photo was to show me the wallpaper in the background. And the funny thing about it is that it looks very much like the vintage wallpaper I have in my hallway today. I love the picture!

Living
January 2, 2009
My home and I was in a Danish news paper “Jyllands Posten” last Sunday. The article is by Pernille Glavind and if I must say so it’s a pretty good one. Actually I think Mette was the first one to see it, I was in Stockholm until Wednesday so I saw it on “Ungt Blod” before I saw it myself.
I didn’t expect the article to be as long as it was and I would never had thought that so many pictures would be chosen. The experience was very fun and flattering.

Mafia party
January 1, 2009
I had a blast last night, dressing up, eating delicious dinner, watching fireworks, dancing and singing.
The Italian mafia theme was so cool. Home made buffet with all kinds of yummy Italian food, pizza with prosciutto, pasta with parmasan, different kinds of salad, lamb, chicken and tiramisu ice cream, uhm. Even the water and wine on the table was Italian and during dinner the soundtrack of The godfather movie was playing After dinner we even had a Godfather quiz. Unfortnually I didn’t win (Haven’t actually seen the movies yet). In the bathtub behind a curtain I found this drunk mafia guy… Feels great having friends who makes such an effort to throw a party like this. Thank you Morten, Thomas, Amalia and Mia.
I hope you all had a great New year! Looking forward to get on with my blogging and hear more from all of you in 2009. All the best.
