Love and Marriage
March 28, 2009

I was looking through old pictures and I found this one of my brother (Niller) my sister (Sigga) and I. The picture is taken in “Kongens have” , a park in Copenhagen right next to where we grew up. I’m the little one in the middle. The three of us have always been a great team.

Another project of mine, from the endless list, is a collection of bridal couples on their wedding day -couples that I am somehow raleted to.
So far it dosen’t look like much, but I have just had my grandma on the phone and now my collection is gonna grow bigger very soon… You’ll get the details and close-ups when the “exhibition” expands. For now this is what you get:-)
Still working on the web-shop, getting closer though…
Paintings
March 27, 2009

I was eating dinner at my dad’s last night and we had this talk about visual aesthetics, how people experience the same picture/photo etc. in different ways -and which terms we each use to decide whether it’s good or bad?
It is of course obvious that everybody has their own idea of what’s aesthetic to them -and that we all see things with different eyes.
The tricker of our talk last night was that lately I have experienced that some people are able to see things in art/photos/paintings etc. that I just don’t get… -And of course they do! -but I have always put a lot of honor in analyzing taste and aesthetics, and now I’m terribly afraid I have lost my sence of judgement.
It’s not that I always have to agree -but most of the time I understand (or at least I think I do) what makes someone drawn to a certain style.
I hate when I just don’t get it! Feels like I’m missing out on something very important.
Anyway, here are two paintings from my own home that I personally find both amazing and very aesthetic…
The top one is a self portrait painted by my dad. I stole it when I moved from home and got it framed a few years ago.
I’m not sure I ever told him… Sorry dad!
And underneath is a picture by a danish painter called Jørgen Larsen, I own several of his paintings and I love them all but this one is my favorite (among others – of which one still hangs in my dad’s dining room:-)).

Just a yellow lemon tree
March 15, 2009

Ever since the day I met Anders he has been talking about how much he wanted a perfect lemon tree. -Last week he finally found it! Now it lives in our bedroom.

We have had a long Sunday morning breakfast and I have made this little kitchen garden I’ve been talking about -right now it dosen’t look like much, but I hope that in a cuple of month it will. I gave my old plants a Spring treat and a shower as well. They really needed it.

Now a good book and a dinner tonight at “Sticks and sushi” whith some people from our building. Don’t you just love Sundays?

March 13, 2009

I have now cleaned up my notice board. How it looked before!
This week has been so long (fantastic -but very long) I can’t wait to close up the shop tomorrow and spend my Weekend hanging around at home.
Have you noticed my new blog-look ? – I made some changes last night and I’m pretty satisfied with the result too. -Maby it’s not that big of a difference… Anyway, here it is.
Uh, and I have found some new blogs that I think is worth a visit:
Going to bed now. Have a great Weekend everyone!

Accessories of the day
March 12, 2009

I bought myself these two rings last Summer; the big green one is from a small Indian shop in the center og Copenhagen (Same place I got my nose pierced when I was 13). I think I bought the other ring in Berlin once.

A girl tried this hair-piece on in the shop yesterday but she didn’t buy it. -While she had it on I decided I wanted it if she didn’t!
I never make the exact same thing twice so let’s hope she won’t come bact for this one:-).

This little coral-rose-ring was a Christmas present from Anders four years ago and the other one is my wedding ring!
Fashion diary
March 11, 2009

So, this is me today!
The shirt is new -and the eyeglass chain too (my new favorite accessory). I sell them both in my shop -but I haven’t made them myself.
-I am still making hairbands every day… Except for three days last week -I took time to do some summer skirts. -So this week; double up on the hairband production:)
Can you belive it’s been over one and a half year since I made the first flower-hairband?
-The skirts turned out pretty great -I’ll keep you posted on that.

March 7, 2009
I have a lot of books but I can’t decide what to read at the moment. -And to read a book is one of the things on the list I miss most!
So any suggestions?

What to do…
March 6, 2009

Wow, where did the last couple of weeks go?
A girlfriend of mine just came home from a trip to China and asked me what I’ve been up to lately? -To my big surprice I had no ideá what to tell her!
These last cuple of weeks I have been constantly busy, but I’m not quiet sure why. Work I guess…
When the to-do list of things I miss doing gets to long, I’ve spend to much time in the shop.
Here is the list of what I miss doing:
1. Cook dinner,
2. Blog,
3. Plant spring seeds in my kitchen window,
4. Read books,
5. Take a long bath and color my nails,
6. Create new stuff for my miniature home,
7. Watch movies,
8. Stay up all night and sleep late,
Islands Brygge, Copenhagen
March 5, 2009

The area where I have my shop is so nice and cosy -it kind of reminds me of the soundtrack from “Cheers”.
I went to the dentist today, here on Bryggen we dont call it “the dentist”, we just call her “Helle”… In the waiting room I met several people who lives in the area and comes by the shop once in a while. My neighbours are always curious about how things are going and what’s new.
-On my way back I met the post delivery guy, he knows when to stop his car and deliver my packages, because he recognizes my bike outside the shop.
When you take a walk down the street here most people say; Hey!
This very local spirit of “Bryggen” was new to me when I opned up my shop and it took me some getting used to in the beginning. But now I just really appreciate it.
Sometimes you wanna go -where everybody knows you’re name…
