It’s freeezing in Denmark… I went out the door this morning and instantly decided to go shopping for a warm winter jacket with room enough for a big belly.

All I really feel like these days are my warm bed, croissants and coffee.

Candy

I never use to eat candy before I got pregnant, at least not that much. Now it´s a different story I just can´t get enough….

Hi all, I’m back!

Thank you for all the nice comments!

Anders and I have spend our vacation week in Berlin, I didn’t bring my camera so I’m sorry to say; I don’t have evidence.  It would have been very hard not to blog if had brought it so it was intentional.

Our trip was great, lots of walking, eating, talking, coffee drinking, laughing, reading, writing and shopping.

Our friend Kristian doesn’t live in Berlin any more but we met up with Niller who was there for a congress and a guy called Jan who we know from Copenhagen, he recently moved to Berlin  to study. -You will all see a lot more to Jan later on; he agreed to feature as a”what I wore” guest star!

If things goes as planned this weeks fashion star will be posted tomorrow so stay tuned!

Weekend time

These last couple of days has flown by with no time to blog at all. I’ve had so many good things done this Week; a lot of organizing and planning for the shop, I’ve seen friends and family that I haven’t seen for while, I’ve tidied up at home,  I’ve got laundry done and I even baked buns yesterday.

I’ll be back soon with pictures of “what-the-guest-star-of -this-week-wore”  I’ts gonna be great :)

The miniature-blackboard-wall is new. I think you’ve seen the rest before.

I did some unintentional moving around the furnitures (real life! -not mini-world) again last Weekend -I never plan to do so, but it seems to happen pretty often anyway :) -All I intended to do was move a single painting or something like that -then the next thing I know everything around it looks a bit wrong and of course I have to move that to.

Anders usually comes home laughing and shaking his head at all these silly projects I’ve got going. -Unfortunately now I have to ask him for help, after being pregnant and therefore not allowed to lift heavy furniture…

Anyway, the point is; I have new work to do in the miniature home.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Luckily the wood has gone lost

Last night I finished  the miniature-house dining room chairs. I made the seats (out of very thick cardboard) a long time ago, but couldn’t decide how to make the legs. I ended up folding them in metal wire. The reason why I didn’t  just do this at first, was that I actually didn’t think it would work out good enough. I admit they could be more detailed, but I’m satisfied with this result.

I’m having the day off and so far I’m enjoying every single second of it :-) the sky is so so blue and the sun shines beautifully trough my windows. On days like this a quiet place, a book and a cup of coffee is my idea of perfect. I’m reading a book of poems by an old friend of mine “Peter-Clement Woetmann” this book is called “Heldigvis er skoven blevet væk”=”Luckily the wood has gone lost”

In the paper!

September 20, 2009

There is an article about me and my mini-home in the Danish newspaper “Berlingske tidende” today, it is written by Sara Skarum who found me though this blog. The pictures (in the paper) is by Nicolai Linares.

Once again I’m surprised by how people find this project fascinating, it makes me so flattered. When I first started out two years ago I would never had thought anyone but me would be interested. Seems I was wrong…

I haven’t  done much to the mini-home recently . I’ve  been in a  slow-moving-phase working on the house but things like these makes me really motivated, it is such a wonderful compliment. Now I can’t wait to build something, I’m just not sure what?

Anders took over the shop this afternoon and I have been having a lovely day at home relaxing.

The light in our apartment is great  in the afternoon so I got inspired and took some random pictures around the house, actually I took a whole lot of random pictures so I’m dividing them into two posts.

This one  is the first!

Monday again so soon, huh? This weekend was way to short -brilliant, but way to short!

Anders and I have been watching episodes of “Mad men” on dvd for way to many hours last night, so I´m not really awake just yet…

My brother Niller handed in his thesis this Monday and last night my sister Sigga and I threw him a surprise party.

We had balloons, flags, wine, presents, lots of food and excellent company. Besides that Niller was totally surprised so this party was a great success!

My dad and stepmom have created the most wonderful garden ever by their house on a small Danish island called Samsø. They grow asparaguses, onions, potatoes, apples, herbs, cherries, garlic and lots of other things…

-Sometimes they bring home little miracles like this beautiful bundle of garlic!

Ever since we moved to our flat two years ago a large ugly fusebox have been in the middle of the hall. I have wanted to do something about it for a long time but i couldn´t find a sollution that seemed right, but when i made the bookshelf Anders used the excess wood and created this small cupboard. I think it turned out great.

Bookshelf all(most) done!

I know a lot of you couldn’t see the difference in my earlier bookshelf post, so this one comes with an explanation:  I have build a cupboard from the right side of the shelf -to the wall (in time I’m gonna make shelf’s inside the cupboard as well, but right now it is still empty) . On the left side of the bookshelf I have made a wall-extension to make everything look more integrated (this side can’t open)

And on the vertical lines between the shelf’s I have camouflaged the “gaps”  with wood…

I’m happy with the result -my living room looks more exclusive and less “ikea-like” this way… Oh sorry, have to go open the shop now, see you…

Everyday life…

August 14, 2009

IMG_7287skal

I’m sorry I have been neglected you guys lately, but this week has been my first  all-week-working-week after my very relaxed and long lasting summer vacation.

I have only once before been away from the shop for such a long period of time… All together it has been almost five weeks,  in the beginning of July we spend three weeks traveling by train in Germany and Poland, then we went back to the shop for a week and after that; two more weeks of  Danish summer relaxation… Lucky lucky me!

It is hard getting used to everyday life again I am so tired at night when I come home that I go straight to the sofa, hopefully things will turn around as soon as I get back into the habit.

I’m hoping to get on with the bookshelf this weekend…

PS. A customer of mine used some accessories from the shop for a Danish television show a few days ago, you can go here and see the clip.

So this is what my lavender project looks like now. They became very girlish and romantic witch wasn’t really the intention at first. Anyway here they are…

I will get back to your comments tomorrow!

PS. I have been so inspired by Gabbi who sometimes makes these cute little hearts ♥  – So I have been searching the net a bit to find out how to make them and you know what; it is very simple: hold down the alt key and the 3 key. not the 3 key at the top of the keyboard, -the 3 key on the right of the keyboard… Ta daa ♥ ♥ ♥ cute little heats….  Thank you Gabbi!

While Anders cooked dinner last night I took some pictures of our kitchen. It’s not a very big kitchen but it’s a great one -I love to sit on the kitchen table when I come home at night and talk talk talk while Anders is creating little miracles.

The look of our kitchen is not that thought through. It is a standard Ikea kitchen that was already here when we took over the apartment.  The  colour theme of our pots, pans and kitchen tools are red  -I have been collecting for several years and have quite a collection…

Last night we had a Thai dish with rice and curry -I’m a bit of a curry-addict.

Hope you have had a great Weekend all. -And once again; thank you so much for all your sweet comment, I really appreciate them!

I have now started working on the lavender bag project but my eternal problem, when I make stuff at home and not in the shop, is that I don’t have all my best tools, beads, buttons, ribbons and scissors here. -I have materials at home but not nearly as many as I have in the shop.

And even though I bring home what I think I’m gonna need, I always end up missing a whole lot of specific things. Right now I wish I had my zig zag scissor, some tiny red buttons, a very very thin needle and some old laces…

IMG_6357skal

I spend a lot of time displaying things to make them look their best (I can’t help it, sometimes I even fold and pile up messy stacks of clothes when I’m not in my own shop) -but once in a while the displays that just randomly gets there along the way are clearly better…

This is is… ehm, a hanger-thing?  in my bedroom, it contains clothes that are to dirty for the closet but to clean for the laundry basket. Do you know those piles of clothes?
