Advent calender

November 7, 2009

IMG_0074skal

As I mentioned a few days ago I sell many gifts in my shop, and these days I can really fell Christmas is getting nearer, people buy small gifts for advent-calenders…

The girls that works in my shop came up with the idea to make advent-calender-solutions specially customized for the customer. Now you come into the shop and order a calender for your, mom, girlfriend, sister or yourself. You just have to tell us a little bit about the person to receive the calender; how old they are, their favourite colour and so on… then we create a calender with 24 nicely-wrapped gifts and you don’t have to run around town for presents all November!

There are two calender-prizes; one for 498kr and a bigger one for 898kr (Danish kroner)

I have made cupcake and ice-cream birthday-cards for my shop… I sell many gifts every day and I thought this might be a good idea…

They say stuff like; Congratulations and hurray hurray! not that inventive -i know, but I couldn’t think of any thing clever, any ideas? It doesn’t have to be in Danish.

Winter mood…

November 5, 2009

IMG_9931skal

It’s freeezing in Denmark… I went out the door this morning and instantly decided to go shopping for a warm winter jacket with room enough for a big belly.

All I really feel like these days are my warm bed, croissants and coffee.

Stefanuge

This hip guy is my father in law. Stefan surprisingly volunteered to participate on a “What I wore”-post I find that very cool!

You don’t have to be a twenty year old model to be a fashion victim on this blog, you just gotta have the X-factor!

Happy weekend everyone!

My shop is now ready for Winter season. I think I’m going for yellow gloves this year… They don’t have to match the rest of my Winter outfit, actually that might be the whole point of it.

Have a great Sunday everyone. I’m gonna spend the rest of mine with my phone switched off watching old “James Bond movies”

Candy

I never use to eat candy before I got pregnant, at least not that much. Now it´s a different story I just can´t get enough….

Stomach update…

October 22, 2009

IMG_9460skal

I’m really taking advantage of not having to take pictures of what I wear every day any more… I have lived in these jeans for over a week now! -and the sad thing is, I don’t even fell like wearing any thing else.

It’s not that my stomach is that big yet (actually nobody who doesn’t already know I’m pregnant have noticed anything) but these pants are just so so comfy. My little stomach does already feel gigantic to me though :)… Well, I guess this one picture counts for an “What I wore this week” update…

Have to go now -I’ll get back to comment answering tomorrow.

What Lea wore this week!

This is Lea!

Lea is my brothers girlfriend and has become a very good friend of mine. She makes fantastic graphic art which is displayed in my shop and on her blog and she actually introduced me to the world of blogging!

Lea has a very beautiful and feminine style inspired by the fifties, she always wears a skirt and is fond of vintage shirts with pretty patterns and colours. She has a talent for finding all the secret second-hand treasures before anyone else and I’m proud to say; she often wears “Brinja” clothes. I’m truly glad she agreed to show a week of her outfits -to me they are divine.

Hi all, I’m back!

Thank you for all the nice comments!

Anders and I have spend our vacation week in Berlin, I didn’t bring my camera so I’m sorry to say; I don’t have evidence.  It would have been very hard not to blog if had brought it so it was intentional.

Our trip was great, lots of walking, eating, talking, coffee drinking, laughing, reading, writing and shopping.

Our friend Kristian doesn’t live in Berlin any more but we met up with Niller who was there for a congress and a guy called Jan who we know from Copenhagen, he recently moved to Berlin  to study. -You will all see a lot more to Jan later on; he agreed to feature as a”what I wore” guest star!

If things goes as planned this weeks fashion star will be posted tomorrow so stay tuned!

This week is fall-vacation-time in Denmark, mostly that goes for school children and therefore also their teachers (witch includes Anders). And because Anders is of duty; I have treated myself with some time of from the shop. Meanwhile the wonderful Lea is taking good care of Brinja Kbh.

To really relax and escape from everyday life for a while, I have decided to also take a little blog vacation! Not for long -just this week out… I’m surely gonna miss you.

I made these medal-brooches during this Weekend while watching “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.  Oh, how I love adventures.

What Zora wore this week…

October 10, 2009

zora

This little fashion princess is five years old and lives with her family in Mexico City (far away from cold Denmark)

Zora has been a loyal follower of the fashion posts here on the blog for quite a while and has now got a well deserved chance to be fashionista of the Week.

As you can probably see Zora loves fashion, but also she likes to dance and swim. Some of Zoras clothes are made by her grandma but besides this she shops at “mum to mum sales”, consignment shops and the shop “Zara”.

I am completely in love with the Wednesday ballerina look; could it be any cuter? -I would totally wear it myself if I could. And how about the Friday Hollywood-star-look I can’t stop smiling when I look at it :)

Zora doesn’t have her own blog (yet), but you can go here to see Zoras mum’s blog.

Thank you Zora for this wonderful participation on my blog!

Ps. If you want to show your wardrobe for a week, or if you have any other good ideas, send me an e-mail and let me know.

Weekend time

IMG_9306skal

These last couple of days has flown by with no time to blog at all. I’ve had so many good things done this Week; a lot of organizing and planning for the shop, I’ve seen friends and family that I haven’t seen for while, I’ve tidied up at home,  I’ve got laundry done and I even baked buns yesterday.

I’ll be back soon with pictures of “what-the-guest-star-of -this-week-wore”  I’ts gonna be great :)

The miniature-blackboard-wall is new. I think you’ve seen the rest before.

I did some unintentional moving around the furnitures (real life! -not mini-world) again last Weekend -I never plan to do so, but it seems to happen pretty often anyway :) -All I intended to do was move a single painting or something like that -then the next thing I know everything around it looks a bit wrong and of course I have to move that to.

Anders usually comes home laughing and shaking his head at all these silly projects I’ve got going. -Unfortunately now I have to ask him for help, after being pregnant and therefore not allowed to lift heavy furniture…

Anyway, the point is; I have new work to do in the miniature home.

Happy Thursday everyone!

So here she is; my little sister Hildur in the cheerleader-costume I made her last week.  She really liked it and I was relieved that she did, because she only saw the clothes an hour before her party. Sometimes I suspect my big sister and I are more exited about all this girly dress-up stuff than Hildur is (like teenagers are suppose to, she thinks we are a bit to silly sometimes), but as you can see on these pictures, she jumped right in to the character and I’m pretty sure we all had a blast last night.

About the weekly-fashion-post; I can’t seem to fit into my old clothes any more, and I don’t plan to spend a fortune on fancy maternity clothes. So; do to a fashion-standby, my weekly-posts are on hold for a while. Meanwhile the idea is to invite a new guest star once a week for a period of time, to start out, I have persuaded Anders to be the first one (wasn’t easy) I haven’t had time to “Gimp” the pictures yet, but hopefully I’ll have a finished “What-Anders-wore-this-week-post” ready for you by tomorrow… Most exiting stuff, if I must say so myself!  Stay tuned….

Anders is taking care of the shop today and I am suppose to get some work done at home -better get to it!

Wish you all a great Weekend!

I have made jewellery today, rings and earrings. Uh, and I have been working on a Cheerleader costume for my little sister, she is attending a party at her high school this weekend with an American-high-school-theme -so far I have made a tight white t-shirt with a big blue “H” on the front, (her name is Hildur) and a matching blue mini skirt, tomorrow I´ll make some pom poms all she needs then is a ponytail and a pair of trainers… Hopefully she’ll be prom queen after this :)

Ps. My hobby has made it all the way to Norway now, today “Aften posten” has an article about my minihome; you can read it here!.

Blackberry jam

September 29, 2009

Anders recipe on blackberry jam:

Blackberries,

Sugar,

Brandy,

Lemon juice,

Water,

Boil the berries 10 min. in water and lemon juice, add sugar and boil for another 10 min. put in the brandy and set the whole thing on fire. Stir thoroughly and cool down. Easy huh!

The berries are from Anders parents garden by their house on “Orø”, we keep a big bunch of them in our freezer and use them for smoothies and stuff like that.

Ps. Have I got the best blog readers or what? I’m so flattered by all your comments on my previous post; thank you so much!

billedemsøm

This picture was taken on the 27th of September 2007, the day Anders and I got married! -Boy, those two years went by fast…

Could you find a more perfect day for happy announcements?    -I have one!

If everything goes as planned, Anders and I are going to have a baby this Spring. I wanted to be as sure as you can be with these kind of things before telling you… Three and a half month feels like forever when you walk around with such exciting news in your stomach!

Maybe you’ve already noticed that I’m not as reliable as I used to be when it comes to posting every day, and even though I don’t have a big stomach yet, you might have noticed it growing lately… I’m having trouble with my “What I wore posts” because I don’t  really feel like dressing up and I can’t fit into most of my jeans or skirts any more. I’m working on a new idea for the weekly fashion post to compensate, but I’ll keep you posted on this.

Besides being crazy tired I feel great, and we are both so happy and very excited!

We are celebrating our wedding anniversary tonight at this restaurant.

Hey there, happy Saturday!

I’m on my way out, but I’ll be back later with some “what I wore this week pictures”…

Luckily the wood has gone lost

September 25, 2009

Last night I finished  the miniature-house dining room chairs. I made the seats (out of very thick cardboard) a long time ago, but couldn’t decide how to make the legs. I ended up folding them in metal wire. The reason why I didn’t  just do this at first, was that I actually didn’t think it would work out good enough. I admit they could be more detailed, but I’m satisfied with this result.

I’m having the day off and so far I’m enjoying every single second of it :-) the sky is so so blue and the sun shines beautifully trough my windows. On days like this a quiet place, a book and a cup of coffee is my idea of perfect. I’m reading a book of poems by an old friend of mine “Peter-Clement Woetmann” this book is called “Heldigvis er skoven blevet væk”=”Luckily the wood has gone lost”
