Thursday…

The miniature-blackboard-wall is new. I think you’ve seen the rest before.
I did some unintentional moving around the furnitures (real life! -not mini-world) again last Weekend -I never plan to do so, but it seems to happen pretty often anyway :) -All I intended to do was move a single painting or something like that -then the next thing I know everything around it looks a bit wrong and of course I have to move that to.
Anders usually comes home laughing and shaking his head at all these silly projects I’ve got going. -Unfortunately now I have to ask him for help, after being pregnant and therefore not allowed to lift heavy furniture…
Anyway, the point is; I have new work to do in the miniature home.
Happy Thursday everyone!
Luckily the wood has gone lost
September 25, 2009

Last night I finished the miniature-house dining room chairs. I made the seats (out of very thick cardboard) a long time ago, but couldn’t decide how to make the legs. I ended up folding them in metal wire. The reason why I didn’t just do this at first, was that I actually didn’t think it would work out good enough. I admit they could be more detailed, but I’m satisfied with this result.
I’m having the day off and so far I’m enjoying every single second of it :-) the sky is so so blue and the sun shines beautifully trough my windows. On days like this a quiet place, a book and a cup of coffee is my idea of perfect. I’m reading a book of poems by an old friend of mine “Peter-Clement Woetmann” this book is called “Heldigvis er skoven blevet væk”=”Luckily the wood has gone lost”
In the paper!
September 20, 2009
There is an article about me and my mini-home in the Danish newspaper “Berlingske tidende” today, it is written by Sara Skarum who found me though this blog. The pictures (in the paper) is by Nicolai Linares.

Once again I’m surprised by how people find this project fascinating, it makes me so flattered. When I first started out two years ago I would never had thought anyone but me would be interested. Seems I was wrong…

I haven’t done much to the mini-home recently . I’ve been in a slow-moving-phase working on the house but things like these makes me really motivated, it is such a wonderful compliment. Now I can’t wait to build something, I’m just not sure what?

My miniature bike…
July 21, 2009

This bike is one of the few things in the mini-house that I didn’t make from scratch. I was lucky enough to find it as a fairtrade product in a small shop in Berlin. It is made only from recycled cans by streetkids in Cape Town. I did customize it a bit though to make it look more like mine. Now what I need to make is tiny little bags with dods on them.
For the first time in my mini-home project I’m running behind. We have got a new couch that obsoletes my prior work, now I have to make a new one! I keep moving around the furnitures too, but luckily that’s not a big problem because most of the items in the house are movable too… With all this redoing of furnitures and not enough time on my hands it feels like I’m not really getting anywhere… Anyway; this bike is new and I like it -do you?
What I am not suppose to be doing!

I have 1000 things on my to-do list, but this is all I really feeel like doing… Stay tuned for the final result!

Cinderella…
May 24, 2009
I feel like cinderella sometimes; having no time to finish her dress…

There are so many things I would love to spend more time doing and so many people that I don’t see often enough. I know I can’t do it all, and I am already lucky enough to have a job and an everyday-life that I have chosen myself, but right now I just feel like I’m constantly chasing time…

I found these pictures from November 2007 when I started making the minihome.
I didn’t have a blog back then…

Happy Monday
February 9, 2009

I miss working on my mini home. It’s been way too long since I’ve had time to do anything about it. The last thing I made was pictures and paintings for the living room, but that was two month ago.
I’m painting the shop these days, hopefully it will turn out great, right now I just can’t see the end of it. Pictures later…
The Vasa museum, Stockholm
December 30, 2008
In 1628 this giant ship called Vasa set sail on her maiden voyage and sank in Stockholm harbour. The wreck was salvaged in 1961 after 333 years below the sea.
The first photo is a miniature of how they raised the ship from the buttom of the sea. Amazing stuff…

Miniature news
December 15, 2008
I did some very cool miniature stuff this weekend. Show you soon… I think one of the best parts of the whole dollhouse project will be to install lightning. It’ll probably be when I’m all finished with the rest, so not at all yet, but still., looking forward…

The shop where I buy my miniature stuff feels like a parallel universe.
It is a tiny very old fashioned and always crowded place, which you barely notice from the outside. It is always the same two people standing behind the counter and after having been there quite a lot recently I’ve notisted that most of the customers are the same. Everybody knows the staff, or is it the other way around?
I am by far the youngest person there.
I love the serious but silly conversations among the costumers and clerks. It always makes me smile.
Today I bought four small chairs. I’m gonna paint them black.

My apartment
June 18, 2008
And this is how my home looks in real life…

One of my home projects is making a miniature model of my own apartment in 1:12. So far it has taken me about eight months and it´s not done at all . Here are some recent pictures.
